Everything Means More When We Give Together

NortonLifeLock celebrates Giving Tuesday with nearly $200k donation

December 1 marked Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving which encourages us all to give our time, financial donations large or small, material items, acts of kindness, or one’s voice to support our communities in a meaningful way. My favorite part about Giving Tuesday is that everyone has something to give and everything we do means more when we give together.

NortonLifeLock celebrated Giving Tuesday by offering a special 2:1 Donation Match for all of our team members on December 1. We were truly blown away by employee and executive participation. Employees across the globe donated more than $66,600 through 399 total donations to causes they care about. With NortonLifeLock’s match, we contributed a total of $196,792 on December 1. Causes supported ranged from UNICEF, to The Tomorrow Fund, to The Trevor Project and many more.

We also invited our team to participate in our first ever #NortonLifeLockCares Social Media Challenge. Employees showed us how they participated in Giving Tuesday and we chose five winners at random, all of whom received a $50 cause card to donate to their favorite charity. This year’s winners were: Belinda Qualls who supported Lost Our Home Pet Foundation, Karen Sloan who supported United Food Bank in Arizona, Anthony Barberis who supported The Against Malaria Foundation and The Trevor Project, Becky Zehner who supported foster youth, and Ramya Sankaran who supported three charities including The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, Sridevi Foundation, and St. Jude.

The Giving Tuesday special donation match is just one of the several special 2:1 matching campaigns we offer each year to respond to current events. These special matching campaigns are in addition to our annual corporate matching program and our Dollars for Doers grants. For these grants, NortonLifeLock makes a $15 donation for every hour of volunteer service that an employee contributes. In FY20, we combined the caps for Dollars for Doers grants and corporate matching into one ($2,000 match per employee per year) to increase the flexibility of this benefit.

We’d like to extend a huge thank you to our team members and executives for rallying around Giving Tuesday and making an incredible impact this year.
