Opt-in to Cyber Safety

New campaign shines light on what we all do sometimes to get what we want online

It is no surprise that we are spending more time online right now whether we are shopping, browsing, streaming, playing, socializing, working, or learning. In fact, adults spent nearly seven hours online per day on average in 2019 – I think I am averaging 10 hours these days.

When you think about the type of activities we do online, they can inherently come with some risk, as logging in and checking out includes sharing our personal information, credit card and banking numbers, and much more.

And we are often asked to share personal information online to get something we want. Sometimes it is access to a website, downloading an app, or getting something for “free.” There are online forms requesting more information, pop-ups to answer, and endless things you have to accept that can make it all too easy to be a little unsafe. Now it’s easier to help protect yourself, and Cyber Safety is more in our control than you may think.

I’m excited to share our newest creative campaign, which sheds light on this online predicament and offers solutions for you to online surf with less stress.

This new creative campaign is titled “Opt-in to Cyber Safety.” The campaign points out a truth that everyone can relate to: To get access to what we want online, when we want it, we may be asked to make tradeoffs that we know aren’t always the safest.

We hope to help you do the things you want online, and to do it safer. That’s where Norton 360 with LifeLock comes in – device security, a VPN for online privacy, and identity theft protection, all-in-one. While you might feel you have no choice but to be unsafe, you can choose to be safer online. Opt-in to Cyber Safety.

And lastly, please don’t give out your Social Security number for a pair of socks.

Editorial note: Our articles provide educational information for you. NortonLifeLock offerings may not cover or protect against every type of crime, fraud, or threat we write about.
