Level Up Security and Performance When Gaming
How to optimize your gaming performance without sacrificing security
I’m Bob Shaker, Head of Norton Gaming, working with the team to make gaming safe and fun, and a Twitch Affiliate, raising money for kids battling cancer.
When it comes to our gaming rigs, we want to get the most out of what we paid for. We want the best performance, the smoothest gameplay, and the least interruptions so we can experience games the way they were meant to be played. There are a lot of programs and software that can impact performance, forcing gamers to make compromises.
At Norton, we believe that strong security should not come at the cost of enjoying a game’s full potential. That’s why we have added a new feature to Norton 360 for Gamers called Game Optimizer. Game Optimizer is patented technology for multi-core CPU PCs that provides an immersive game experience by reducing performance interruptions while still maintaining your computer’s security. By isolating non-essential apps to a single CPU core, it allows the rest of the CPUs to be allocated to your game for better performance.
This feature uses a combination of criteria to automatically detect games with high CPU usage in both windowed full-screen mode and full-screen mode and feed them the maximum power.
By dedicating CPU power needed for optimal performance, Game Optimizer prevents non-critical processes from stealing resources that you need — focuses on your game and the most important processes, such as Discord, OBS, SLOBS, Norton 360 for Gamers. (1)
This is a huge step forward for gamers. We can now play knowing we are getting more performance from our rigs and with less interruptions from lag spikes as a result of a program that’s eating up all our resources. We can also rest assured that we can stay Cyber Safe while playing by leaving our security protection in place so that we can watch streams while playing games without the browser impacting our gameplay.
I am proud to be part of Norton Gaming here at Norton. We are focused on bringing innovations to gamers that not only help keep you secure while gaming, but also improve your experience. Maybe we’ll even help you secure that next win!
But don’t just take our word for it. You can check out Norton 360 for Gamers for 14-days on us. Claim here. Terms Apply. Thanks, and we’ll see you in game!
Note: Game Optimizer is only available on Windows (excluding Windows 10 in S mode, Windows running on ARM processor) with four4 or more core processors
